Special Interests & Why I Love What I Do

Ophthalmology is such a unique specialty and every day is new and different. I love that I get to work on a large variety of species, from a tiny bird to a large tiger. Anything with eyes (besides a human)!

My areas of professional interest include cataractous patients, performing cataract surgery and giving them the gift of vision. I also am interested in equine ophthalmology, reconstructive blepharoplasty procedures around the eyelids, performing corneal surgeries with various types of grafting materials and new, innovative ophthalmological techniques.

Personal

I am a Wisconsin native originally from Racine and I am happy to be back closer to family. I have two dogs, Khola, a Cattle dog cross, and Huxley, a Black and Tan Coonhound cross. Huxley only has one eye, fitting for an ophthalmologist! He does great! Ask me about him!

At home, I love to sew and I am looking forward to picking it up again. I also love to garden, there is something so satisfying about growing your own vegetables and herbs. When I’m not working, you will see me out with my dogs hiking around the state parks. If you see us, feel free to say hi!
