Special Interests & Why I Love What I Do

My professional interests include bleeding disorders, trauma resuscitation, cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation, head trauma and exotic animal emergencies. I enjoy lecturing and teaching as well. I've lectured on a variety of topics at national conferences but I most enjoy lecturing in Northeast Wisconsin because it is a great way to stay connected with my colleagues here at home.

I am a founding partner in Horizon Veterinary Services and the Medical Director of the hospitals we have developed over the years. As the Medical Director I focus my efforts on education and training and the development of protocols that help us maintain high quality care. I also work to ensure that our hospitals are up-to-date on the most current therapies, products and technology available in our profession.

I also volunteer my time providing CPR and First Aid training to police and fire departments and to working dog organizations. It's rewarding to work with these professionals. They do incredible work every day and I'm honored to help contribute to the bond they have with their K9 partners.

Personal

At home I enjoy spending time with my husband Jay (a local mixed animal veterinarian), our son Samuel and daughter Ella. Our four-legged family includes a Bernese Mountain dog named Levi, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Breck, Diva our Arabian horse, Little Buck our miniature horse and our two cats; Poe and Junior. When we are not working or running the kids around to various sporting events (or feeding our entourage of animals) we like to go hiking, horseback riding, downhill skiing and anything that allows us to be on the water.
